United States Green Card Lottery
What is the Diversity Visa Lottery Program?

Each year, 50,000 immigrant visas are made available through a lottery to people who come from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States. None of these visas are available for people who come from countries that have sent more than 50,000 immigrants to the United States in the past five years.
If you win and receive a Green Card through the program, you and your family will be able to live, work and study in the United States wherever you wish for as long as you wish.

Who is eligible to enter the Diversity Visa Lottery?

Generally, you are eligible to participate in the Diversity Visa Lottery Program if you were born in a country whose natives qualify and meet the required education or training requirements. Use the FREE eligibility test to check if you qualify.

How do I Apply?

Starting in 2003, there are no more paper applications. All entries must be submitted to the State Department in an electronic format, using an Internet website dedicated specifically to the submission and receipt of Diversity Visa.
