The processing fee is based on the number of years the registration is for, and whether one or two applications are created each year (in the case of a married couple it is recommended to submit one application for the applicant and one for the spouse to double your chances of winning - see below).

Double Your Chances - married couples can submit two applications, one where the husband is the main applicant and one where the wife is the main applicant. If either application is selected, the entire family will get a Green Card. Married couples selecting this option are actually doubling their chances of being selected.
